Athens

If your’re coming from the US, I recommend flying into Athens and booking direct flights or the ferry from there. This will help break up your travel time and you get to experience Athens! Unfortunately, they had the rainiest day of the YEAR when we were there so we spent our day sleeping off the jet lag. Good thing the Europeans eat dinner late because we woke up ready to go around 9pm. We ate dinner in Plaka which is known as “the neighborhood of the gods.” It is located right below Acropolis Hill and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Athens.

After a short flight from Athens to Crete, you’ll arrive at the ultimate honeymoon resort. I wish I had more of an adventurous bucket list for you to experience in Crete but truth is, we were so jet lagged we spent most of our days napping by the pool at our luxurious all inclusive resort. But hey, it could be worse.

We spent 4 nights at Stella Island Luxury Resort and Spa and LET ME TELL YOU it was the best start to our honeymoon. Picture over water bungalows in the Maldives but on a budget. The staff was amazing, you’re never more than a few steps from the bar, and you can enjoy nightly entertainment. Some of the larger bungalows are waterfront so you will wake up to views of the Mediterranean Sea . Catch up on your sleep and enjoy some downtime with your hunny before catching the ferry to take you to the most beautiful place on Earth, Santorini.

6-10: Santorini

You’re not ready for this. The most beautiful place I have ever laid eyes on. My jaw DROPPED when I walked into the open air lobby of our hotel and saw what my view would be the next few days. We were welcomed with champagne upon our arrival at Andronis Boutique Hotel. In my opinion, this is the best location in Oia. You’re walking distance from everything and right across from where the pain pick up/drop off area is when you’re catching a ride to the rest of the island.
